Well I said screw it and bought a new computer.

Wed Jun 10, 2009, 6:48 PM
And oh lordy is this thing so much nicer than my old one. It runs faster, the screen is oh so much more shiny!

I also got a new car, a lovely 97 Concorde with so many nice things it and the most comfortable seats ever. It's my baby :3

But of course this also means that I just had to spend like 1000 dollars :< so my wallet is feeling winded. But I'm not going to ask commissions. If you really wanted me to draw your story you'd be better off mailing me a few bulk cases of Monster and some adderral. Hell, if you sent me money for my stories I'd probably just end up using it to buy some games or shit and I'd probably be too busy having fun to write your stuff.

But I'm still writing. I'm well into the FINAL CHAPTER of the Thousand Pound Statue, and once that is over it'll feel like a giant burden has been lifted on my back. Only to return when I start my next pair of stories. I admit that I did have a bit of a delay getting back to writing but that's just because of way too much Lego Star Wars, as well as not really having a good word processing program (Openoffice.org writer for all your free word processing needs, btw). but now I'm back on the wagon. THE PUSSY WAGON THAT IS.

Also, a side note, now that I have a computer that isn't barely alive I was thinking of getting some games on this thing. Maybe some touhous, a couple Mario romhacks... I've really wanted to give Team Fortress a try. I might end up buying it after this paycheck, who knows. ANY SUGGESTIONS PEOPLE? I'm pretty sure this lappy could run it.

  • Mood: Winter Downs
  • Listening to: We Are - One Piece Opening
  • Watching: My head fuggin hurts
  • Playing: Lego Star Wars - the Complete Saga - Wii
  • Eating: Cinnamon crumb cake
  • Drinking: melted ice cream sundae

Time to have a little fun! If you replace 'little' with 'bloody' and 'fun' with 'GOREFEST EXTRODINAIRE!' that is! ~ O'Mally

Congratulations!

I too recently bought a new computer. I have a kickass iMac with 24 inch screen and a terabyte of storage space. Maybe a bit of overkill, but I've got a shit-ton of music so having the extra space is worth the extra cost.

What kind did you get?

Short and to the point, awesome. Here's hoping everything works out for you.

LOL I also said "SCREW IT" and hit enter too early on accident. I've edited it to fill in some new info, but I've gotten so much positive reaction from leaving it textless that maybe I'll stick with it XD

It's nothing too terribly impressive compared to that XD Just an affordable HP laptop with a decent amount of gigabytes, which coupled with the external hard drive I bought for my old laptop means I should be able to store enough music to last me the next five/ten however.

It's up to date and smoother than my old one, so I'm not going to complain about it XD If I had more money I could've gone for an iMac or something cool but with car insurance and student loans on the horizon I have to hold back SOME XD

Team Fortress 2 is awesome. There are some give and takes, mainly with douche players, but it is well worth the time. Plus the updates (which are free) make it better.

I would recommend downloading Steam (online game store run by Valve which is free to do so I might add) and buying TF2 off of it. Or buy it in a store, works either way.

Yurgh! Student loans, you don't have to tell me about student loans! I'm stuck in the middle of that mess right now. I graduated from x-ray school a few years back and now am paying the price for higher education. At any rate, regardless of the loans, I was sick of my old shithole Dell, which, BARELY limped its way through school and wanted to splurge on something decent that would last awhile that didn't have a crappy OS (man, does Vista BLOW or what?) So out came the credit card and voila, new iMac!

But, hey, a new computer's a new computer, and that rocks! Hopefully it doesn't have Vista for its OS, though.

I was sick of my dell as well because it was just falling apart. The CD-drive never opened when I needed it too, I lost a key in my old college dorm, and to end it all, the DC jack was loose and wasn't getting any power to the computer and it would've cost a fair 80-150 to replace it. At that much I figured I'd go ahead and get a new one. It lasted me through my senior year of highschool and 3.5 years of college so I think it was time for it to retire.

And it does have Vista, but I haven't noticed too many problems, other than annoying things like randomly restarting my computer for updates and things. I guess I'm always oblivious to OSes, though.
